How we work
A project is split into milestones, each with its own deliverables and price. You see working results at every step, and decide whether to go on.
Stages of work
- 01
First conversation
Tell us how the process works today and what you would like to change. We set up a call to go through it together.
once we receive your request
- 02
Preliminary assessment
We review the materials, data and systems, and send an assessment: the approach, the risks, a rough timeline and a budget.
3–5 business days after the call
- 03
Plan and contract
For the first milestone, we list the work, the deliverables and how they will be accepted. The schedule and price go into the contract.
5–10 business days
- 04
Technical prototype
We test the riskiest part first, on a limited set of data or a single integration, so problems surface early and cheaply.
3–6 weeks
- 05
Pilot and development
Changes ship as they pass review and tests, and you can try the work in progress at any time. The pilot scope and how it will be checked are set in the milestone plan.
6–10 weeks to a pilot
- 06
Acceptance and launch
We check the agreed scenarios, migrate the data, write the instructions and train your team.
usually 3–6 months from the start
- 07
Warranty and support
Defects are fixed for three months after delivery. Then the system moves to a support plan, or to your own team.
from 3 months
What the contract fixes
Payment by milestone
Scope, timeline and price are agreed before each milestone begins, and you pay for the milestone, not for hours.
Code and rights after payment
Once a milestone is paid, you receive its code and documentation. Who holds the rights is set out in the contract.
Progress in plain sight
You get access to our TaskDeck board: the plan, every decision, the work in progress and its test results, with no status meetings to sit through.
Confidentiality
We sign your NDA or ours. How data is stored and processed is written into the contract.
Questions and answers
Can the budget be fixed for the whole project?
Yes, when the requirements are clear and will stay stable. For a new product we fix the first milestone, then plan the next one with what it has taught us.
What if the requirements change mid-project?
We work out the effect on the timeline and budget. A small change can take the place of another task; a larger one becomes a change to the milestone.
Who owns the code?
Once a milestone is paid, we hand over its code and documentation, and the rights pass to you as set out in the contract.
How does acceptance work?
Before work begins, we list the scenarios and figures that will be checked. For AI and data work, that includes the quality thresholds and the data they are measured on.
